Fire Retardancy

All Mermet Performance Sunscreen fabrics, as well as some Turnils Collage Internal fabrics are certified as fire retardant.

Fire retardancy is tested for the following fire-retardant properties:

1. How quickly do they catch fire?

2. How fast does the fire spread?

3. How much does the fabric smoke?

 

Fire retardancy certification is crucial for commercial and residential applications to comply with stringent Australian building codes. Mermet fabrics comply with some of the most demanding fire safety standards, not just in Australia, but also on an international level, including:

• B1-B2 – German standard

• BS – British Standard
